1 Year at Arockalypse
On Saturday April 19th 2008, we celebrated 1 year at Arockalypse by hosting 3 Free Skateboard Contests, Free Pizza, Free Drinks, Free Prizes, and a Big Free Art Show. The weather could not have been more Perfect for a full day of fun and friends at the skatepark. T-Rent MC'd the day for us as usual.
We started the day off with a Game of Skate.
Daniel moved his way up the ladder to compete in the finals.
David landed trick after trick with ease and more style than anyone. He matched up against your Daniel in the finals.
It was a long and tedious round of SKATE, but when it was all said and done Daniel put the tricks down for the win.
First place won a board, bag of gear, and the First PIZZA! See you on June 27th, Daniel, for the éS Official Game of Skate that only AROCKALYPSE could bring.
What could these eager faces be waiting in line for?
One of the several surprizes of the day. Free Pizza for EVERYONE!
Is that Derek Zoolander?
Noah and crew enjoying the goodies.
I enjoyed a slice as well. Thanks Brian for saving me a piece of Roni.
Next we had the New to Oklahoma, "Highest Ollie Contest." I built this state of the art Vertical Measurement Device, often referred to as "That Reverse Limbo Thing." Here you see Deryk with his very styly, very Marley-esqe power lift.
For some reason, Trent thought he could ollie it with one leg. Needless to say, he couldn't.
But he did manage to make it under the HIGH Ollie Mark.
Our own Arockalypse Man, Preston Cheek won the High Ollie Contest with an ups of 37 Inches. He claims hes going higher next time.
After the High Ollie contest we had a Free for All Best Trick Contest on the Hip. Lil' Kyle with a blaster 180.
Gary Shreddin!Fingerfliping Tail Crusher.
Preston Melon Back 270.
Clint got this super styly Front Blunt on the Sub Box.Check out this guy.
Somebody had to get hurt. But all was well and good in Oklahoma.
"Ebony & Ivory Together in Skateboard Harmony."
Garry is always fun to watch. Representin' the ULS.
Deryk always manages to find an opportunity to take his shirt off. This time he just happens to be hugging Cherry.
At the End of the Day we always have to keep the crowd happy with a huge Product Toss. Everyone came out and had a blast. Thanks for all the support from all of our sponsors.
That evening we offered some more mature Snacks and Beverages at our first ever "On Deck" Art Show hosted by and held at Arockalypse. Thanks to my buddy Dylan for helping get this set up. There were some pretty rad boards that were entered into the show by local tattoo-ists, artists, and skateboarders. We had so many people come through, it was kinda crazy all night. But a great turn-out none the less. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR 1 YEAR OF FUN AT AROCKALYPSE. WE LOOK FORWARD TO MANY MORE. THANK YOU EACH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Jayosh is back in town for a little while, YAY!!!!
