Arockalypse is a Skateboard Retail Store located in the Nichols Hills area of Oklahoma City. Noticing a void in the skateboard retail market, and the lack of support for the local skate scene, Jeff Mains opened the store in April of 2007. Arockalypse opened with the goal of being the central hub for the Oklahoma City Metro Skateboarding Community. For skateboarding to continue to grow there needs to be a healthy, positive, and fun environment for its participants. Arockalypse constantly has this as its main focus.

Jeff Mains, owner, has worked in the skateboarding & boardsports industry for over 9 years in retail, sales, & marketing. Jeff, along with Preston Cheek, and Brandon Sowards are all avid skateboarders, with over 35 years experience combined. Arockalypse truly is "Skater-owned • Skater-Ran." Constantly emphasizing their passion for skateboarding, Jeff, Preston, and Brandon all skateboard and are well known within the community.

Striving to offer the best product, pricing, and service in the metro are key to the success of Arockalypse. As well, Arockalypse icontinually hosts contests, demos, video premieres, jams, and other events for the skateboard community, always free of charge. Each year we raise and giveaway thousands of dollars worth of product and prizes for the local skaters.

 

The industrial materials, exposed hardware and wood accents of Arockalypse's interior are almost a metaphor for a skateboard. The concrete floors evoke the image of old-school clay skate wheels and lead to the steel racks and display case, which would be the trucks, or hardware, of the store. Using a natural, warm color pallet and inconspicuous lighting throughout the store, the space draw one's attention to the massive walls of raw decks and skate shoes - two skateboarding essentials.

The Skateboard culture engulfs creativy, originality, determination, accomplishment, and relationships. At Arockalypse we believe each of these ideas parallels into the retail environment from skateboarding.
